With October behind us, it’s time to take a look forward to November and the unbelievable lineup of games that next month holds for us. From the first of November, this month is just jam packed of epic games sure to make the month fly by like nothing.
The Lord of the Rings: War in the North – I’m a little mixed about this game, as you know if you’ve been reading for a while. But this game looks like it may well be one of the first truly well-made Lord of the Rings games. Even though there are some aspects of the lore and story that are just killing me as a long time Lord of the Rings fan, I cannot wait to step into Middle Earth and fight against the evil in the North.
Sonic Generations – A Sonic game that is trying to pay homage to all of the ups and downs of Sonic’s 20 years. I can’t wait to see if this game can recapture the glory of Sonics past.
Uncharted 3 – Here we have the first massive release of the month, and it’s on the first of the month. What a way to start things out. I have no doubt this game will live up to the series, but will it surpass the acclaim of the second game? Only time will tell – lucky for us, there’s not THAT much time to wait!
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 – Sure it’s an FPS so it’s not on my list to play, but much like BF3 I am incredibly excited to see how it plays out. Can it beat BF3 or will CoD lose it’s spot as the premier FPS? Will it surpass those that came before? Again, we can only wait and see.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – A third absolute blockbuster of a video game release – and we aren’t even 2 weeks in? How will anyone find time to play it all! I’ve never been into the genre, but I’m looking forward to seeing what Skyrim holds for me as my first real incursion into the world of the Elder Scrolls.
Super Mario 3D Land – Finally we’re starting to see some solid 3DS titles… took long enough but glad to see it! Now is when we get to see if the 3DS can really take a spot among handheld greats or if it will remain in the shadow of the massive success of the Nintendo DS.
Assassin’s Creed: Revelations – Ezio’s third and final chapter takes us to Constantinople following the trail of Altair. This is the fourth blockbuster of the month, for those counting.
Rayman Origins – And now we enter the lighthearted side of our game releases. Rayman Origins brings back a series from ages ago and looks to be just incredibly fun and really, in the end, isn’t that what matters in a game? ;)
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword – Even if I have no intention of playing this due to my hatred of the Wii-Mote, I am intrigued to see if this high-motion Zelda game can truly live up to the high standards that Zelda has had in the Past.
The King of Fighters XIII – The King of Fighters series returns in all its 2d glory. Dropping some of the systems from the last game, which was largely unsuccessful, they hope to return the game to prominence with some new mechanics. Can’t wait to see if they’ve succeeded!
Afterfall InSanity – This independent third person survival horror game is currently being offered as part of a rather unique initiative. If they receive 10 million pre-orders, the game only costs $1 and 10% of the proceeds go to charity. So if you’ve got a dollar to put towards what looks like an interesting title and a worthy cause – this would be a good place to spend it!
We also have a number of remakes coming out this month including the Metal Gear HD Remake collection, Halo Combat Evolved anniversary, and Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 – so we have quite a huge month ahead of us and I cannot wait.
