Big Anime News

Well, in light of the upcoming Ai-Kon I wanted to give you a bit of big anime news. Two of the classic anime from my childhood are receiving new entries.

First of all, there’s a completely new series of Sailor Moon being made, it’s unclear at this time whether it will be a reboot or a continuation, but it’s been confirmed that it is definitely being made and will receive a worldwide simultaneous release – which hopefully means English localization. http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2012-07-06/sailor-moon-manga-gets-new-anime-in-summer-2013

Secondly, they are in the process of making a new Dragonball Z movie will be releasing in Japanese theatres on March 30th, 2013 – my birthday(hint: if anyone wants to fly me to Japan to see it as a birthday present… nah probably asking too much ;)). No word on when it will be releasing on dvd/digital or whether it will receive either North American or European localization, but given the track record, I’d guess it probably will. Unlike previous Dragonball Z movies, this one will actually be a part of the story and will give a bit of insight into what happened between the defeat of Kid Buu and the 28th world martial arts tournament. http://www.saiyanisland.com/2012/07/dragon-ball-z-2013-movie-story-part-of-series/
