I don’t normally do release date announcements here, since they’re everywhere… but once in a while there’s a title I’ve been waiting for for long enough and eagerly enough that I just have to.
Starcraft 2’s first expansion, Heart of the Swarm, has been given an official release date of March 12th, 2013. That’s just over 2 weeks before my birthday if anyone wanted to get me a present(hint hint… no? You don’t? Fine I’ll just buy it myself). Like with Mists of Pandaria, they’re also doing a digital deluxe version, for those of you who want the CE goodies but don’t want to have to buy a retail copy of the Collector’s Edition. And just what are those goodies? Glad you asked!
The Digital Deluxe version comes included with:
Starcraft 2: an exclusive ‘Torrasque’ model for your in-game Ultralisks, as well as 3 crossover portraits(Psionic Diablo, the Pandaren Marine, and the Infested Night Elf, if my eyes are reading these right) and 3 exclusive decals – one of which resembles Kerrigan’s wings, which is pretty cool.
Diablo 3: A Hydralisk Banner sigil as well as a new visual item spawning Kerrigan-style wings from your back(hopefully these will work with the D3 CE wings – I want both!)
World of Warcraft: The greatest World of Warcraft reward they’ve given for a collector’s edition ever. An exclusive BANELING pet. Yes, a Baneling. A cute cuddly explosive green baneling. Makes me regret cancelling World of Wacraft.
In addition to these, the Collector’s Edition also includes an Art Book, a Soundtrack, a rather cool mousepad, and the behind the scenes dvd.
