Just for Fun: Binary Hand Dance(And other fun/funny math)

Okay, as some of you may know I’ve been sick for the past week. Really sick. What this has led to is me not having a lot of brainpower for writing or playing stuff I plan to review. Hence no DMC coverage yet – wasn’t even able to go out to collect my pre-order copy until yesterday because it wasn’t healthy for me to go outside in the cold as it was. But the better side of this story is that it has led to me finding some rather awesome things on youtube – which leads me to my current Just for Fun article about MATH of all things.

Absolutely charming math geek ViHart has a series of videos talking about math from the perspective of someone who seems enchanted by it. From videos relating to the reasoning for the Fibonacci sequence in plants, a ‘open letter’ explaining why Spongebob’s house is not in fact a pineapple, and just her randomly having fun with all sorts of things and somehow relating them to math and science… her channel is a look at math that almost anyone can enjoy, learn something from, and just get a whole new perspective on ‘that subject most people hated in school and paid(or bullied) the nerd in class to help them make sure they got a high enough mark in to move on to the next grade to repeat the cycle’. But what better way to showcase this than some hand-dancing:

That is just one of her videos… and I dunno about anyone else, but I find it utterly hilarious. Her channel can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/user/Vihart?feature=watch and if you’re looking for a hilarious take on math, silence, and numbers in general… I strongly recommend taking a look. She has kept me company in my illness, and for that I wanted to share her content with all of you. Enjoy!
