The Blade’s Edge – August Update

Well… it’s August. Summer is halfway over, the ridiculous month that was July is over, and it’s time to look forward. But first, a brief look back… thank you to everyone who reads any of these articles. All of you have helped to make sure that July was the busiest month my website has ever had, surpassing last year’s July by a pretty decent margin… I hope you all have liked my pictures, articles, reviews, or whatever it was that you came here for – and I hope you come back to check out what I write in the coming months.

To start things off I want to remind you that right now there is a Hex TCG twitch page for Child’s Play of Hex: Shards of Fate, going on. It’s being hosted by Infam0usne0 and Cirouss on twitch, and is a fantastic way to get yourself some exposure to the game if you’re at all interested while supporting a great cause. It’ll be going on until the end of August 2nd so give these guys some support.

To those of you looking for gaming content, this month should be an improvement over last. Rogue Legacy just came out on PS4/PS3/Vita and I’m already giving that a try. I’ve got a few other games on my radar to play in the short-term, but there are a few games coming out this month I’m really excited to try. Firefall, a game I played some back during it’s beta, has just gone live and I may give it a second try if I have time. On August 5, Sacred 3 comes out – I didn’t really care for Sacred 2 but it is the type of game that I’m generally willing to try… so I might give that one a shot. On the 12th, Hohokum comes out. Hohokum is a very unique looking indy game, and I am very excited to see how it turns out. Disgaea 4 is also coming for the Vita on that day, and while I do have D4 on the PS3, I think the Vita is a more likely avenue for me to actually give it the time it deserves. On the 19th, Japan has an anniversary present for me – the two Sword Art Online Vita games are coming out in NA – both on my anniversary. Additionally, Tales of Xillia 2 is finally coming out. Thank you Japan! On the 26th, we have the Vita re-release of Hyperdimension Neptunia… I will admit, I was very bored with that game when it first came out, but from what I’ve read the re-release removes the elements that bored me and re-touches some of the stuff I didn’t like so I’d love to give this a try. Last, but certainly not least, we have Infamous: First Light which I am very excited for. Fetch was my favourite character in Second Son, so to get a story focused on her sounds incredible.

On the anime front… I’m sorry, I didn’t quite get all the anime reviews out that I wanted last month, but there is only one left: Irregular at Magic High School. I’m writing Irregular’s review now, so we should have that out fairly soon. Following that, there are a few more shows from previous seasons I’m watching: Fate Kaleid Liner Prisma Illya, Blade and Soul, Brynhildr in the Darkness, and possibly Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure. So any of those that I make it through I’ll be reviewing. I also have a Shadow’s Six coming up fairly soon showcasing the 6 anime I’m enjoying the most from this season thus far since they won’t be ready for review for a few months. And don’t forget to check out my review of Nanana’s Buried Treasure that I just posted yesterday!

And I still do have one gallery left to post of Ai-Kon pictures – my pictures from the cosplay contest. I’m sorry about how long this has taken, but we’re working to get this rather large gallery prepped for posting soon.

Once again, I’d just like to thank you all for making this my busiest month of all time – so thank you very much.
