Well, August is over, the summer lull is ending, and we’re moving on to September. September is normally the first big month of the fall game releases, and it’s also when the summer anime season starts wrapping matters up. What does that mean for us here?
All told, not terribly much. This month’s content is mostly going to be catchup content. I did just finish inFamous First Light, so that’ll be one of my next reviews. I’m still working on Tales of Xillia 2 and Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment, so expect reviews for at least two of those this month. If I make it through SAO: HF I might grab Disgaea 4 or Hyperdimension Neptunia’s Vita re-releases that came out last month. Handheld games generally take me longer to get through, and SAO: HF looks to be pretty huge overall so I’m not sure how long it’s going to take.
As far as new games this month, there are a ton of fairly high-profile releases, but I’m only really interested in one of them: Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor. It’s a game I’ve had mixed anticipation for – it looks like it has some really interesting mechanics but it also looks like it butchers Tolkien’s lore worse than Lord of the Rings: War in the North did. There are also a couple of RPGs coming out that I’m likely to give a try; specifically Fairy Fencer F and Natural Doctrine. Additionally, there’s a tower defense called Defence Grid 2 that I may put some time into as well. But overall, this is a pretty quiet month on the gaming front for new releases, so I’m hoping to finish off my queue so we can go into October with a clean slate.
On anime, I am currently writing a review of Brynhildr in the Darkness and I just posted my review of Fate/Kaleid Liner Prisma Illya. Additionally, any anime that have short seasons from the summer season I’ll be doing reviews for once they wrap up.
On other content, I’ve got an AMV I’d like to spotlight – one of the Ai-Kon AMVs that my wife and I particularly enjoyed is posted on youtube – and I’d also like to do another Shadow’s Six piece soon. I’ve also got an idea brewing for a Muses piece, and if I’m able to put the pieces together for it, you may see the first part of it this month.
Thank you for once again helping Shadowed Blade grow – I’m glad you’re enjoying it enough to keep coming back. Thank you.
If there’s anything any of you would like to see me review, any AMVs you’d like me to spotlight, or anything you’d like to see me do a Shadow’s Six on, please drop a line below – I’ll definitely take any suggestions into consideration!
And, as always, have a good month filled with games and anime and whatever else makes you happy!
