This is a bit late, but we’re less than a week away from the Central Canada Comic Convention (C4 for short). Taking place at the RBC Convention Centre in Winnipeg, starting on Hallowe’en and continuing until Sunday, it is one of the major Winnipeg conventions I like to attend each year.
Probably the biggest draw of C4 are the guests – with previous years having as high a calibre of talent as Patrick Stewart and Tia Carrere – and this year is no exception. Featuring a large swath of the talent from the Hobbit movies, Adrian Paul, and even a few high-profile cosplay guests such as Kat Gunn and Holly Wolf.
Personally, celebrities don’t draw me all that much but they are huge attractions and it impresses me that a Winnipeg event is able to get guests of this calibre. The big draws among this for me are the cosplay guests as this year they are actually hosting a cosplay panel. You all know I love cosplay, and I’m absolutely thrilled by the opportunity to learn more about how their art is created and executed.
There are also going to be a variety of themed panels, as well as – for some reason – four or five different cosplay contests. I’m not sure I’ll be able to attend them all, but you can expect a good number of pictures – that much I can promise you. The event keeps growing, and there are always an amazing number of cosplayers there.
If anyone would like to meet this year, please feel free to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I know it’s short notice, and I’m sorry for that but I hope to see some of you there.
