Weekly Recommendations – If You Liked Sabagebu…

This week I’m going to be offering recommendations that are tailored for people who enjoyed Sabagebu. What I’m focusing on are the core aspects of Sabagebu… its high pace, its confidence, and that utter hilarious absurdity… I hope you like them!

Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time (Game)

First and foremost, I have to acknowledge one of the more recent Ratchet and Clank games, but the Ratchet and Clank games in general will probably scratch the itch… they are third person shooters that offer ridiculous weaponry, cartoonish stories and graphics, hilarious characters, and a level of high paced fun that few games pull off. A Crack in Time was my personal favourite, as it seems to take all of these elements and dial them up beyond belief. It’s a great choice if you want something that won’t take itself seriously but will still offer some serious fun.

Kill la Kill (Anime)

While nowhere near as lighthearted as Sabagebu, Kill la Kill does match it in absolute insanity. Kill la Kill recognizes what it is, and lets itself be that… embracing the senselessness in a way that I’ve rarely seen. But through that it also manages to tell a rather deep and compelling story amid the chaos. I’m not going to lie… Kill la Kill is a show that I’d likely recommend just in general – but especially if you’re looking for something that is confident in its craziness.

Rayman: Origins (Game)

As our last recommendation… I’m going to offer a game I’ve recommended before for other reasons. Rayman: Origins was one of my favourite games of the year it came out… and a large part of that is exactly why I liked Sabagebu…. as mentioned above, the uncompromising confidence in what it wants to deliver. In Rayman: Origin’s case, it attempts to offer you the most fun it can. And what is the result of this? An exciting, fun, and incredibly silly experience.

Hope you enjoy this week’s recommendations… and keep an eye peeled – there’s likely to be a lot coming in the next few weeks. As you might have seen, I posted two reviews last week, and I expect another at least 2 this week. Have a good week everyone!
