The end of a year is a time to reminisce on the good that happened in the year that is leaving, but also a time for building up excitement about what is to come. I’ve already talked 2017, unveiling my Game of the Year list just a short while ago, so I wanted to take some time as the year ends to talk about what I am excited for in the year to come. With how packed 2017 was, what could 2018 possibly have left for us?
These months are just flying by… it’s so hard to believe it’s already July. Canada day has come and gone, and we’re moving steadily through our JRPG craziness. Last month, we talked about E3, previewed a few of the spring shows I’d been watching, and started the Spring anime reviews as series started to wrap things up. The first three were The Lost Village, Asterisk War’s second season, and Re:Zero – Starting Life in Another World. We also unveiled two more entries in the Shadow’s Sixty! We’re in the home stretch now, with only 3 more lists to go as we have counted down to 19 now. We should be wrapping this up over the next two months, as we unveil the top 18 games of all time in my eyes!
As E3 begins to wind down, it is time to take a moment to think about the best and worst moments of this year’s gaming media bonanza. Obviously, I’m not there in person, so coverage is based off of a combination of live streams, articles, and videos from other sources.
So I wanted to take some time here today to talk about some of what I saw following coverage of E3. We’re going to talk surprises, the best and worst, and where the companies hit their highs and lows. I also wanted to touch base about the Sony E3 Experience as this was its first year visiting Winnipeg.
We’ve entered the final month of the Spring 2016 anime season, and we’re going to give you a bit of a preview of what we’re watching and are looking forward to seeing the endings of.
There will be minor spoilers within, mostly for early episodes in the series.
It’s crazy. The days and weeks have flown by. Between a short-notice vacation to Vancouver (pictures to follow soon), an amazing Selubration, a plethora of game releases, and the anime season continuing strong… I’ve just barely managed to keep afloat among all of the awesomeness that happened this past month.
We finished the last of the Winter 2016 anime reviews with Myriad Colours Phantom World and played 4 separate games, including both Uncharted 4 and Ratchet and Clank. We are also continuing the Shadow’s Sixty, and are currently halfway through the countdown of the best games I’ve ever played. Wanting to see whether your favourite has made the cut yet? Check out the list as it continues to develop.
