June has arrived and… well that means we’ll all have a lot of time to pass before anything interesting comes out. So that’s what we’re offering for you this month: the best games and anime to eat up huge portions of your month.
JRPGs are a genre known for typically not being terribly graphic intensive. With a few exceptions, such as SquareEnix’s Final Fantasy games, most JRPGs tend to be on the lower end of the graphics scale. Despite this, they still often look absolutely amazing… and that can be accredited directly to the amazing art direction many of these games have.
Today I’d like to acknowledge 6 of my favourite games for their amazing art styles. In the event a series has a tendency towards the same style, I may lump the games under the series… but in the event two games from the same series were drastically different I may separate them if they both warrant a spot.
This week I’d like to highlight some games that were created thanks to Kickstarter – specifically games I helped fund through Kickstarter that should be coming over the next year. This list may sound a bit familiar, since some of these were expected to come out this year but have been delayed… but since they’re all almost certainly coming this year, lets start to build some hype for them shall we?
There are a some games from my childhood that I will always remember… games that gave me countless hours of fun and that I hold deep in my heart… games like Megaman X, Dungeon Keeper, Breath of Fire 3, Final Fantasy Tactics, among others. This may seem like a strange time to bring this up, but it’ll all make sense soon enough.
Today is a holiday here in Canada… but it’s not anything particularly special so you, like me, probably don’t have anything to do today… so I’d like to recommend a few games that will be great ways to eat through time. These are games where you’ll sit down and start playing and then before you realize it hours will have passed. I’ve even got a classic anime that would work perfectly for this.
Last week I spoke about what I felt were the best games and anime of the year. This week I’m going to go on the opposite side of this… of the things that happened this year, the following were the games, anime, or otherwise that were the most disappointing to me.
