I was a fan of Pokémon as a child, back during the original Pokémon era… I watched the original show and played Blue back in the day. I lost interest when the show started having Pokémon talent shows and other utterly ridiculous concepts… but I’ve always hoped for a game that allowed me to truly get that Pokémon battle experience. It’s one of those childhood fantasies that just won’t go away – right there with the old 90’s movie style VR. It’s unlikely to ever become a reality, but Pokémon X is trying to take us one step closer to it.
Many years ago, the first truly great PS3 tower defense came out and it shot the Pixeljunk brand to household status among gamers. This wasn’t their first successful game, but it was their first true hit. I remember how much time I sank into this gem of a game, and thus hearing that it was finally(and long overdue if I might say) going to be coming to my Vita was a thrilling notion.
Sadly, I was not able to attend Blizzcon – so this post is based off of the streams that were available through the Virtual Ticket. This year Blizzard primarily showcased Heroes of the Storm(formerly Blizzard All-Stars), Hearthstone, and the new expansions for World of Warcraft and Diablo 3. These announcements were essentially what I’d expected to hear about… but aside from Hearthstone none of these announcements were exactly what I’d expected.
Project X-Zone is a cross-over tactical RPG featuring characters from a vast number of franchises from Namco, Capcom, Sega, and others. The vast array spans series from the obscure to the classic, with characters such as X from Megaman X, Ryu from Street Fighter, Arthur from Ghouls and Goblins.
